UPDATE: After listening carefully to the helpful feedback we have received, we wish to simplify and clarify the message to owners of Diono convertible car seats: Radian RXT, Radian R100, Radian R120, Rainier, Olympia, and Pacifica.

Safety Statement:

Diono is a leading designer and manufacturer of convertible car seats and other juvenile products. We are committed to improving safety for babies and young children. As the result of our rigorous quality control and ongoing product testing, we have established that certain car seats installed in a certain configuration result in a technical non-compliance and related safety concern.

Affected Car Seats:

If you have a Radian RXT, Radian R100, Radian R120, Rainier, Olympia, or Pacifica convertible car seat that was manufactured after November 25, 2013, you may be affected by this voluntary recall. Any other model or manufacture date is NOT affected by this voluntary recall.

Remedy:

If you have an affected car seat, you should immediately contact our dedicated Customer Care team at this toll-free number 1-855-463-4666 for a Remedy Kit. The Remedy Kit includes a lap belt cushion for use in lap belt only installations, a new warning label, a replacement chest clip, and an instructional addendum.

Description of the safety risk:

If the convertible car seat is installed with only the lap belt, the child has an increased risk of a chest injury in the event of a crash.
If the convertible seat is installed with only the lap belt, the child weighs over 65 pounds, and the tether is not used, the child has an increased risk of head injury in the event of a crash.
There have been no reported injuries or deaths associated with these configurations.

On Radian, Monterey and SantaFe car seats made before September 20, 2012, our company’s customer service contact phone number was changed from what is printed on your seat. If you have one of these seats and would like a replacement label, please contact Diono Customer Service 855-463-4666 or dionoUSA@diono.com.

 

Chest Clip

If you have experienced an issue with the chest clip and you have a Radian seat manufactured before September 2008; please contact Diono Customer Service at 855-463-4666 for a replacement part.

 

Tilt Lock

If you have a RadianSL model car seat manufactured before March 2011 and feel you have experienced an issue with the tilt lock relating to installation compatibility, please contact Diono Customer Service at 855-463-4666 for a replacement part.
