Preparing for Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day

May 18, 2016 Tips & Advice

Will your family be participating in Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day? In its 23rd year, #TODASTW Day is held on the 4th Thursday in April (April 28th this year) and is designed to encourage young children to dream of pursuing a career in any field that interests them regardless of gender.

Maybe your occupation or work environment isn’t conducive to having little helpers along for the day. If that is the case for your family, consider asking aunts, uncles, grandparents or neighbors to participate. Their company may have a pre-existing program or may offer a more flexible workday

TODASTW has evolved from a grassroots effort to promote women in the workplace to include both sons and daughters in a “real-world” learning experience. It’s a wonderful idea that can promote family bonding and exploration, but we understand the “day-of” execution may prove to be a bit stressful. Maybe you need to move the car seat from your vehicle to your spouse’s or relative’s, or you’re worried grandma may need a refresher on proper harness fit. Below are some links to information that will help make the day fun and safe for everyone.
